Teepa Snow
We had the rare privilege of documenting a personal session with Teepa Snow, from Positive Approach, LLC. Teepa met with caregivers and those struggling with a form of dementia.
Friday’s event took place at the Brown Center in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Teepa is one of America’s leading educators on dementia. She is an advocate for those living with dementia and has made it her personal mission to help families and professionals better understand how it feels to be living with the challenges and changes that accompany various forms of the condition, so life can be lived fully and well. Her company – Positive Approach, LLC – was founded in 2005 and offers education to family and professional caregivers all over the world. We had a chance to sit down with Teepa to gain a real understanding - not only of her work but also where we are in our country with the effects of dementia on aging Baby Boomers.
Teepa stands tall on the front lines, as a voice, for those with dementia. Her tender, common sense approach by creating almost a new language for caregivers to use in helping their loved one is profound and awe-inspiring to watch.
We are fortunate to have Teepa featured in our upcoming film “Those on the Front Lines of Alzheimer’s & Dementia”. I am certain her presence will help so many through her insightful interview as well as her demonstrations.
