Interview with Dr. Gary Dunbar
On April 18th, we headed to Central Michigan University to begin filming On the Front Lines of Alzheimer’s. We explored the John G. Kulhavi Neuroscience Center & Lab not only to learn more about Alzheimer’s, but to also learn about the specific work the Center is doing to combat the disease. While there, we sat down with Dr. Gary Dunbar, the John G. Kulhavi Professor of Neuroscience and the Director of the Neuroscience Program and Brain Research and Integrative Neuroscience (BRAIN) Center. While talking with him, we learned important information about the advancement of the research his lab is doing. He also went into detail about the personal affect Alzheimer’s has had on his life, as well as many of the students he works with. With insights into how Alzheimer’s affects the brain and about how we can help prevent ourselves from the disease, we left the discussion with Dr. Dunbar informed and eager to keep learning more about those who work on the front lines.
