The night was magnificent as we celebrated the premiere of “Those on the Front Lines of Cancer” in two “sold-out” theaters at Emagine Theater Royal Oak, thanks to Paul Glantz.
While this event was special to my team and I, since we have worked on the 3-hour production for almost two years now, last night was really for all of those feature medical professionals and foundations who are on the front lines each day helping those on a cancer journey. Moreover, the real unsung heroes of our film are all of those who were brave enough to share their very personal stories.
Our evening opened with comments from Paul Glantz, the film’s host JoAnne Purtan, and Senior Vice President Fred Nahhat from Detroit Public Television. The complementary comments at the end reinforced just how important this film will be for anyone who has had to face cancer head on themselves or with a loved one.
We, of course, need to thank our supporting Executive Producers Warren and Carol Ann Rose, John and Carole Kulhavi, Sky Foundation, Inc., Jack & Annette Aronson and Tony and Mary Schimizzi. We cannot do what we did without the support of our Executive Producers as well as everyone else who helped support this film.
A special thank you to the organizations who came out in support of “Those on the Front Lines of Cancer”. These organizations include Sky Foundation, Inc., Artichoke Garlic Foundation, Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit, Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation, Kids Kicking Cancer, Kids Without Cancer, Mission of Hope Cancer Fund, New Day Foundation for Families, Rainbow Connection, The Pink Fund, Wrapped in Love and Wish Upon a Teen.
Please try to catch the broadcast of our film which will be shown in 3 parts on Detroit Public Television/PBS. The first part will air October 10th from 9pm to 10pm. The second and third part will air on October 17th from 9pm to 11pm.
