As we tackle the controversial topic of pain management within the cancer and medical world, we talked with owner, Gerald Millen, and Patient Relations, Angela Roullier, from the Greenhouse Walled Lake, a medical marijuana dispensary, to better understand the cannabis relationship for a cancer patient. Gerald himself has had countless interactions with patients coming in to thank him for being the first dispensary location in Oakland County, Michigan. Angela is a muscular dystrophy patient who found her way to cannabinoids after years of medication took a turmoil on her body, to where today, she now takes no prescribed medication with only the use of cannabis. She went into detail about the various forms of cannabis someone can use, whether it be a coconut based lotion for bone pain, a vaporizer to help with sleep aid, or in the form of chocolate for immediate relief.

Lastly, we heard for a cancer patients perspective through her experiences with both opioids and cannabis. Sherry Hoover, a 56 year old mass cell stage 4 leukemia cancer patient, experienced several negative side effects from using opioids, she felt it was making her cancer and symptoms more detrimental. However, with cannabis, she feels more alert, the pain is eliminated from her body almost instantaneously, and she finds herself extremely informed and helped through the cannabis industry through the professionals that help her find the best suited product.

We are pleased to highlight the Greenhouse Walled Lake, Gerald Miller, Angela Roullier, and Sherry Hoover in our upcoming documentary, Those On The Front Lines Of Cancer.
