We had the opportunity to sit down and listen to Dr. Megan Caram from the University of Michigan Medicine Urology Oncology Clinic talk about prostate cancer and the often-long journey she goes on with patients, many of them veterans from the Ann Arbor VA. It was obvious that Dr. Caram has a deep respect for our nation’s veterans. She understands the complexity of life that an aging veteran is facing at home and in society.
Dr. Caram offered truly insightful and important thoughts on prostate health as well as critical testing for all men as they age, especially if they have a family history of prostate cancer.
Dr. Caram, through her sensitive and passionate narrative, will help the audience understand the often misunderstood value of hospice care and how, quite often, hospice gives a patient who may not be responding to prescribed cancer care any longer more time with loved ones than would be expected.
We greatly appreciate the opportunity to film this interview with Dr. Megan and we look forward to being able to follow her around as she visits with patients in the future.
